With Coral Tree’s Orange County in home care and senior care services your loved one can maintain their independence, health and happiness in the comfort of their own home. We offer both hourly and live-in care and are happy to accommodate any non-medical special needs.  Our caregivers are experienced, carefully screened, bonded and covered by workers compensation.

The Importance of Aging in Place

A 2014 study conducted by Merrill Lynch shows that for the vast majority of retirees – 85% – the preference for receiving extended care is in their own home. The study also found that the emotional importance of one’s home increases as we age. “Prior to age 55, more homeowners say the financial value of their home outweighs its emotional value. As people age, however, they are far more likely to say their home’s emotional value is far more important than its financial value.” Said one focus group participant: “Our home is everything we put into our house materially and emotionally over the years. It’s us.”

Companionship
We have seen again and again how the companionship of a kind and loving caregiver can make a difference in someone’s life. And studies, such as the classic 1988 by House, Landis, and Umberson have shown that social interaction can have as much impact on physical health as blood pressure, smoking, physical activity, and obesity. “What Relationships Can Do for Health”

Doctors visits

Exercise assistance
We all know the positive effect that regular exercise can have on our health and and physical and psychological well-being. Studies have found that as little as one hour of exercise a week can help prevent Dementia. See “One hour of exercise a week ‘can halve dementia risk.’”

Fall prevention
Falls are the leading cause of injury-related visits to emergency departments in the United States and the primary etiology of accidental deaths in persons over the age of 65 years. See “Falls in the Elderly,” GEORGE F. FULLER, COL, MC, USA, White House Medical Clinic, Washington, D.C. Am Fam Physician. 2000 Apr 1
